SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. (Court TV) — More charges have been filed in a case of a 10-year-old Georgia boy who was allegedly starved and beaten by his parents.
Last week, authorities arrested the alleged victim’s stepbrother on accusations he choked the child sometime between June 2020 and Feb. 2023.
Ethan Washburn, 20, is charged with two counts aggravated assault, according to an arrest warrant and jail records obtained by Court TV.
Washburn is the son of Krista Schindley, who was arrested in May along with her husband Tyler Schindley. The couple is facing multiple charges, including cruelty to children and false imprisonment.
An arrest warrant obtained by Court TV alleges the couple starved, beat and confined the 10-year-old boy over a two year period. Neighbors found him wandering in the street on May 12, weighing 36 pounds and begging not to return home, reports WAGA-TV.
Krista and Tyler Schindley are due in court June 26 for a bond hearing, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Washburn, who was arrested June 6, remains in custody without bond, according to jail records.
