PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (Court TV) — A Florida teen is facing charges for allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend and her mother, leaving the 17-year-old girl reportedly paralyzed.
Spencer Ross Pearson, 18, is charged with two counts of first-degree attempted premeditated murder and one count of aggravated battery, according to the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office.
An arrest warrant obtained by Court TV states Pearson had been harassing his ex-girlfriend since April 2023. On Saturday, the teen and her mother were attacked while leaving a local restaurant after spotting Pearson inside and attempting to leave.
The warrant states seconds after walking outside, Pearson “charged towards” them and stabbed his ex-girlfriend 15 times while holding onto her arm. Her mother was stabbed in the forehead and leg while trying to intervene, as well as a bystander, deputies say.
After being separated from the girl, Pearson “sliced his own throat several times, telling witnesses he was attempting to kill himself,” the warrant states.
Family members of the teen girl told First Coast News she is “paralyzed at the moment” but “the family is confident she will recover.”
Pearson, who is still hospitalized, was charged June 5.
