DENVER (Court TV) — Newly released video appears to show the mistress of convicted murderer Chris Watts.
Nichol Kessinger was interviewed by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation on August 16, 2018, three days after Watts killed his pregnant wife and two daughters.
In the video, Kessinger says she thought Watts and his wife, Shanann, had separated. She had no idea Watts had killed Shanann and their two daughters, Bella and Celeste, when they were reported missing.
For days, Watts denied involvement in his family’s disappearance. He was arrested Aug. 15. The bodies of Shanann, Bella and Celeste were found on property owned by Anadarko Petroleum, where Watts worked.
He confessed to the killings and was sentenced to a total of five life sentences without the possibility of parole.
Kessinger’s police interview was released on a YouTube page run by the family of Shanann Watts, reports People.
